Why Foot Care Matters
Diabetes can reduce circulation and sensation in the feet, which may make an injury harder to notice or heal. Individual risk varies, so foot-care needs and visit frequency should be based on personal health and examination findings.
What an Evaluation May Include
Care may include skin and nail evaluation, circulation and nerve assessment, wound evaluation, preventive guidance, diabetic-shoe assessment, or coordination with other clinicians when appropriate.
When to Call
Call promptly about a blister, cut, sore, redness, swelling, drainage, or other foot change. Do not wait for an online appointment-request response if a problem appears urgent. Call 911 for an emergency.
